Drug Interactions With Vasotec

Potential drug interactions with Vasotec may involve medications such as diuretics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and potassium-sparing diuretic medicine. Other Vasotec drug interactions may occur when taking the medication with potassium supplements or lithium. Before taking Vasotec, be sure to tell your healthcare provider about any medications you may be taking (including over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements).

 

Drug Interactions With Vasotec: An Overview

Vasotec® (enalapril) potentially has a number of other medicines with which it may interact. Some of these potential Vasotec interactions can include:
 
Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
If you have kidney disease or kidney failure, taking both NSAIDs and Vasotec may add to the damage that your kidneys are already suffering. Also, NSAIDs may decrease the blood pressure-lowering effects of Vasotec. Talk to your healthcare provider about the possible risks of using NSAIDs and Vasotec together in your situation.
