Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs
Combining triamterene with NSAIDs can make triamterene less effective and may increase your risk of side effects. To prevent this, your healthcare provider may need to increase your dose of triamterene or suggest an alternative to NSAIDs.
 
Potassium
In general, products containing potassium should not be used with triamterene, due to the risk of high potassium levels (hyperkalemia).
 
Spironolactone
Triamterene should not be taken with spironolactone. Combining these two medications increases your risk of developing high potassium levels (hyperkalemia).
