Congestive Heart Failure Home > Zestril Side Effects

While side effects may occur with Zestril, they are generally mild and easy to treat. Common side effects include headache, dizziness, and nausea. Rare side effects include heartburn, anemia, and insomnia. Some side effects of this drug should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider, such as wheezing, itching, and a decrease in urine output.

An Overview of Zestril Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Zestril® (lisinopril). However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.

As a result, it was possible to see what side effects occurred, how often they appeared, and how they compared to the group not taking the medicine.
In these studies, the most common Zestril side effects, occurring in more than 1 percent of people with high blood pressure, were:
If side effects with Zestril do occur, most people do not need to stop their medicine. In previous research studies, 5.7 percent of people with high blood pressure stopped taking Zestril because of side effects.
