Potential drug interactions with Vasotec may involve medications such as diuretics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and potassium-sparing diuretic medicine. Other drug interactions may occur when taking the medication with potassium supplements or lithium. Before taking Vasotec, be sure to tell your healthcare provider about any medications you may be taking (including over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements).

Drug Interactions With Vasotec: An Overview

Vasotec® (enalapril) potentially has a number of other medicines with which it may interact. Some of the medications that may lead to Vasotec interactions can include:


  • Potassium-containing products, such as:
    • Potassium chloride (K-Dur®, Klor-Con®, Micro-K®)
    • Potassium citrate (Urocit-K®, Polycitra-K®)
    • Potassium gluconate
    • Potassium phosphate (Neutra-Phos-K®, K-Phos®)
    • Salt substitutes (used to flavor food)
