Weakness or fatigue, dry mouth, and sensitivity to the sun are possible complications that may occur with triamterene. Side effects that are potentially serious and should be reported to a healthcare provider include yellowing of the skin or eyes, signs of high potassium levels, or signs of an allergic reaction. Most people, however, experience no problems while taking this drug.

Triamterene Side Effects: An Overview

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with triamterene (Dyrenium®); however, not everyone who takes the medication will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can be easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.
