Who Should Not Take Edecrin?

You should not take Edecrin if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Edecrin, ethacrynic acid, or any inactive component used to make Edecrin. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Experience severe, watery diarrhea while taking the drug.
     
  • Experience worsening of kidney function while taking the drug.
     
  • Are producing very little urine (oliguria) or no urine at all (anuria).
     
Also, the medication should not be used in infants.
