Belonging to a class of drugs known as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, Vasotec® (enalapril) is a drug approved for the following uses:
   
Vasotec comes in the form of a tablet and is usually taken one or two times a day. Common side effects include fatigue and a cough, but most people are able to take it without any problems.
 
Before using Vasotec, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on any other drugs you are taking, including vitamins and supplements, as well as any allergies you may have, including to medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you have diabetes, heart disease, or kidney failure.
