Who Should Not Take Captopril?

You should not take captopril if:
 
  • You are allergic to captopril, Capoten, or any inactive component used to make the medicines. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of inactive ingredients.
  • You have a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor treatment.
  • You have hereditary or idiopathic angioedema.
