Candesartan: What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

Prior to taking candesartan, you should talk with your healthcare provider if you have:
 
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
 
  • Pregnant or trying to become pregnant (see Atacand and Pregnancy)
  • Breastfeeding
  • On dialysis
  • Having surgery or anesthesia.
     
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medications you are currently taking, including prescription and non-prescription medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
 
Do not take any salt substitutes containing potassium or potassium supplements without first discussing it with your healthcare provider.

Overdose With Candesartan

People who take too much candesartan may experience overdose symptoms that can include extremely low blood pressure or an increased heart rate.
 
If you happen to overdose on candesartan, seek medical attention immediately.
