Is Amiloride Used for Off-Label Reasons?
On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend amiloride for treating a condition other than those listed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, amiloride is sometimes used in an off-label fashion to treat water retention that is due to liver problems.
